The Holy Ghost Festival held on the eighth Sunday after Easter takes place not only in Praia da Vitoria but all over the Terceira island in villages wherever the crown of the Holy Ghost is held, either in church or in a private house. The Vine and Wine Festival in Biscoitos on the first weekend of September marks the grape harvest and also offers traditional foods. There are also many more smaller celebrations held all over the island for saints’ days and secular events.
